Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route

OregonEight OPUS FamiliesJuly 2023

Eight families, nine OPUS campers, 27 people, three dogs and a five-person film crew converged near Burns, Oregon from starting points all along the west coast. Ahead of them: the Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route #4, roughly 750 miles and about 95 percent off-road.

Four days of switchbacks, the Wolf Mountain fire lookout and dispersed camps through the Malheur National Forest, with IdleWild Campground and Seneca as waypoints.

A mixed fleet of OP4s, an OP2 and a LITE covered the route. The biggest owner run yet, and the reason the Adventure Addicts program keeps growing.
