East Walker River

NevadaOPUS OP4The Brech and Piggott Families

Neighbors from the same Fresno street, the Brechs and the Piggotts headed over Sonora Pass in July, where enough snow still sat around for the kids to have a snowball fight in shorts.

"We enjoyed playing in the snow at Sonora Pass (in July!). The kids had a blast having a snowball fight while wearing shorts and tee shirts."

The boondocking spot on the East Walker River earned its privacy, including foot-deep water crossings run at night:

"The final mile was a single-lane dirt/rock trail with tight switchbacks, making the campsite less accessible to the average person."

Days filled with dirt bikes, river soaks and a local rodeo. Both OP4s took the rough access in stride.
