Kelly and Nathan Verootis spent six nights off-grid in Big Bend country, taking Juniper Canyon Road out to a primitive camp at Robbers Roost behind their 4Runner.
"It worked out so perfectly. We were warned by a ranger at the State Park that in the same week two trailers had broken axles on the road to our campsite. We politely let the ranger know we'd be ok then promptly had a giggle fit in the car."
Remote desert roads, rough trail and a week of self-sufficiency: exactly the trip this suspension was designed around.
