A JEEP GLADIATOR MEETS AN OP2 IN BLAIR VALLEY
On this Anza Borrego trip, they hiked for three days through the desert – “Hiking the Pictograph trail, which also took us through Smugglers Canyon and to the edge of a waterfall… We backpacked in and ate lunches, and it was terrific!” – @wildflowersforme
Three days out in Anza Borrego means long hikes, quiet desert nights, and meals under the open sky. They covered trails through Blair Valley and Smugglers Canyon and even reached a hidden waterfall along the way. The OPUS OP2 came along for the trip, giving them a simple setup with a proper kitchen and fridge, even this far off the map.
One of their favorite things to do is eat meals together outdoors (at night and early mornings) – “The Opus lets us get out to the most remote places, and make a campsite with the luxury and comfort of a fantastic kitchen, a fridge, and all the amenities, yet we’re still so remote.”
This is just one trip of many for @wildflowersforme – A few other great places they brought the Opus recently include Joshua Tree, Alabama Hills. Northern Sierras, many to Anza Borrego, Little BlairValley, and Death Valley recently.
And the #op2 tows like a dream – “Between the Gladiator and the Opus, we have never had a single towing problem, and we always pushed it! It is smooth on the road, you don’t even feel it behind you, and it tows perfectly behind the Gladiator. It handles shockingly well on inclines, dips, twists, mud, dirt, and gravel, there is nothing this Opus doesn’t roll right through.”
After days of hiking and exploring, having a setup like this made a big difference. The OPUS OP2 towed smoothly behind the Gladiator and moved easily through sand, gravel, and rough tracks so they could focus on the trip instead of the setup.
