Trip Details:

This trip documents a group of OPUS owners who met for the first time in a parking lot in Walsenburg, CO. An OPUS Camper Owners Group brought them together, but their passion for adventure built these memories.

This was the very first Opus Adventure Run planned and executed by owners.

We documented epic moments as the group traveled together through the Great Sand Dunes, over Medano Pass, and up Rampart Range.

The group started through the Great Sand Dunes with amazing views of the tallest sand dunes in North America. (Late May into June are the best time to ride the surge waves, which are waves of water that come down out of the mountains from the melting snow.)

They set-up camp on a ridge up Rampart Range but hit a minor snag on the way when the OP15 quickly hit some bad terrain and caught a flat tire – no problem at all, with 2 spares they were able to swap it out and get to camp on time.

After staying the night near Phantom Canyon, the group heads through Rampart Range and spends the final night miles away from civilization where they have a friendly cooking competition.

The film crew judged and the winner was Aaron Sundstrom with Bison Burgers – Congrats Aaron!

The Enchanted Rockies Trail is a series of overland trails that begin in south-central New Mexico and ends in north-central Colorado.
